Welcome to Northeast Director; Congregations Invited to Open House

MattThe Center for Congregations welcomes new northeast Director Matt Burke. Congregational leaders are invited to meet Matt at an open house on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at the Fort Wayne office.

“We are pleased to welcome Matt to our Center team,” said President Tim Shapiro. “Matt brings to the job a cohesive blend of leadership, communications and technology skills and teaching experience. He will serve well the congregations of northeast Indiana.”

Matt began his job as northeast director on May 22, 2014. He joins administrative assistant Eunita Booker to serve congregations in the northeast portion of Indiana.

“The journey of faith is not undertaken alone. Congregations need the support of others. I’m excited to be part of an organization that can walk alongside congregations on these faith journeys and provide resources and encouragement, ” stated Matt.

Congregational leaders and members are invited to an open house at the northeast office, 7906 Carnegie Blvd. in Fort Wayne from 4-7 p.m., Wednesday, July 23, 2014. All are welcome to attend. Participants can meet Matt Burke, Eunita Booker and other Center staff, look around the office, peruse the browsing library and enjoy delicious hors d’oeuvres.

Following in the footsteps of retiring northeast Director Brian Witwer, Matt is pleased to lead this office in providing resource consulting, as well as workshops, luncheons, long-term learning programs and matching grant opportunities for congregations in this part of the state.

Matt has worked in education at Kaplan Test Prep and has a master’s of divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary. He learned facilitation at Asbury College Challenge Course. He is also a small group leader and an educator at heart. Matt is interested in discipleship in the church and equipping others for their own unique faith journeys.
