Volunteering and Action

Volunteering and Action

The Center for Congregations is pleased to offer this course, led by Group’s Equipping Institute, to congregations in Indiana in 2015-16. This four-day program focuses on two primary areas of equipping congregational leaders and members to offer their best: Creating a Thriving Volunteer Culture and Building an Equipping Congregation.

Creating a Thriving Volunteer Culture examine the four key reasons people—and volunteers—are staying away from church and four ways you can change that trend.

Building an Equipping Congregation: Creating a Culture That Moves People from Sitting to Serving helps you transform your congregation with an Ephesians 4 culture. Serving becomes a “get to” experience, not a “have to” obligation.

Indiana congregational teams of three to five are invited to participate. Program content will be offered in four one-day workshops held at Resurrection Lutheran Church in Indianapolis in 2015-2016.

Courses are:

As a participant, you will explore the biblical foundation that calls leaders to equip people for ministry. Throughout this experience you’ll see the big picture for creating a culture at your congregation that moves people from sitting to serving.

You’ll learn how to create realistic strategies for:

  • Fully equipping your ministry teams
  • Implementing proven connection systems
  • Creating a congregation-wide culture of gift-based service
  • Releasing and empowering God’s people to BE the church

Each of the four courses will provide your team with the tips, tools, plans and insights you need to be an effective and innovative ministry leader. Facilitators bridge the gap between inspirational learning and practical application.

This extended learning opportunity is for pastors, ministry leaders, volunteer directors, congregational staff teams and those who lead volunteers.

This program is subsidized by the Center for Congregations through the generosity of our funder, Lilly Endowment, Inc. The cost for the program is $100 per congregation, payable on or before October 29, 2015, and includes all workshops, books and materials, meals and snacks.
