Making Small Groups Work

Making Small Groups Work

New small groups are starting every day in congregations. So many churches, parishes, synagogues and faith communities provide meaningful small group experiences. Your congregation may be one of those.Small Groups

Suggested Resource
I want to remind you of a tried and true resource that provides direction in a way that many newer books about small groups don’t: Making Small Groups Work. Dr. Henry Cloud and Dr. John Townsend wrote this book back in 2003, but it still provides important material.

It is not just a “how to” book about organizing small groups, though there is information about that. It is a book about how good relationship dynamics in small groups. You learn about the relational responsibilities of the leader and how to handle difficult behaviors. You learn how to create the best relational space for people to learn together.

If I could pick just one book to train small group leaders, this is the one I would choose.
