During your talk, you mentioned that you saw in a recent study that megachurches were invovled in a variety of misisons work.  Has that study been published?

Ryon, Hi thanks for following up - sorry I haven't emailed.  I've been running ever since Indy - even my family wondered where I was, and when I came home - who I was  :-) 

 The study hasn't been posted or published yet - I think its author, I'll get his contact information, is still finishing compiling the information and writing up the report.  What I saw was still very preliminary information.

Also thanks for the suggestions about the african american megachurches!

To anyone out there - I was in Maine all day with my daughter but will post a series of information tidbits from our new national survey of megas and from the survey of attenders of 9 of the 12 megas tomorrow.  The 5 hrs up and back of driving kill me so I'm off to bed.

Hi Dr. Thumma, Thanks for the note and information…. There are a couple of other churches that I can send, but needless to say, your book is a splash amongst some of the clergymen listed. Believe it or not, one minister is using your work to counter the arguments made by his bishop about megachurches. Look forward to reading the info tomorrow….. rjc

I've run into a similar situation - in the UMC tradition and also another pastor who bought copies for his local group of pastors who don't like him anymore now that he has gotten big...
